Volunteering is an emotionally rewarding, and sometimes difficult, experience. To truly understand, talk to any volunteer about the animals they have helped save. Watch their eyes light up as they tell you their favorite happy ending stories.
Ea
ch year volunteers make up a critical work force that contributes thousands of hours to the operation and management of the Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!)
The importance of volunteers to our industry cannot be overestimated; the efforts that are put forth deserve our heartiest congratulations and recognition.
The Board of Directors has established the Maria Gwynn Volunteer of the Year Award to celebrate a BARC! volunteer whose commitment to community and service to others is exemplary.
The award pays homage to Maria Gwynn, one of our original founders in 1979 and recent Board President. Her unselfish and dedicated service has made a significant difference in our community; she epitomizes what it means to be an animal advocate.
The award will be bestowed on someone who has through their dedicated and voluntary efforts supported the programs and mission of BARC! He/she can have a role in any of our diverse programs — Kitten Kaboodles, Pawsitive Therapy, office, transport, adoption or other capacity.
Do you know a BARC! volunteer that's consistently gone above and beyond and performed extraordinary service? If so, then now is the time to do something special for that person by nominating them for the 1st Annual Maria Gwynn Volunteer of the Year Award. Click here for nomination form.
