The Baldwin County Humane Society (BARC!) was the charity of choice for www.YarnMiracle.com at a recent $1,145 check presentation.
Emily Ivey started her business because of the 2008 recall from lead paint in toys made in China. www.YarnMiracle.com Cotton Companions or Itty Bitty Buddies are made with organically grown cotton, so you  have an adorable, well-made, non-toxic toy for your child to cuddle.
Ivey, who has a degree in Fine Art, has crafted 35 patterns with inspiration from Great Gran who taught her how to knit.   Finished toys including bears, monkeys and rabbits are available through her on-line shop, but she has a multitude of patterns for other items such as Halloween spider, carrot toy, afghan, stockings, hat and scarf, men’s vests, women’s sweaters, doll clothes, Christmas ornaments, socks and happy birthday throws.
www.YarnMiracle.com items are made in Bay Minette, although Ivey did North Pole contract work. Ivey is active with the Alabama Knitter Association, Handmade Toy Alliance and Etsy for Animals (EFA). EFA is a collective of 248 artists and craftspeople who sell their work through Etsy.com, a handmade and vintage marketplace. Last October , BARC! was selected their  Charity of the Month.
Ivey’s family proudly models the custom clothing and toys on her website. YarnMiracle.com is a “Purr-Furred” vendor featured on www.BaldwinHumane.org. BARC! gets $10 donation from the larger items and $5 from the smaller ones. Custom order slots for Easter toys are now available by calling
251.268.9276 or emailing emily@yarnmiracle.com.

“The Ivey family loves animals and they have fostered for us” remarked Sonja Presley, BARC! Executive Director. “We are so impressed with Emily’s time and talent with knitting parlaying into donations for animal rescue.”
BARC! is a no-kill adoption agency (rather than a shelter) established in 1979. To foster, adopt, volunteer or donate call 251.928.4585.
